Over the years I’ve worked with some amazing people on all kinds of projects in both newsroom and agency environments. I love creating content for brands, crafting narratives for story productions, working under tight deadlines, and taking on new challenges. When not working you’ll find me hanging out with my family, skiing, playing soccer, traveling, cooking, watching University of Washington football or the Seattle Mariners, or working on my ongoing audio drama podcast about a haunted metal detector.

Throughout my career I've led large and small teams of full-time and contract creatives to deliver the goods, both in small-business and large-enterprise settings. I thrive in both.

Overview:

  • For more than 10 years, first at Possible (Creative Director, Operations) and then at Wunderman Thompson (Director of Creative Operations), I helped lead and inspire a team of 50+ creative leads, writers, art directors, designers, user experience architects, and more. I actively evaluated and recruited fulltime and freelance creative talent, and worked directly with the agency’s executive leadership and other group directors to ensure the creative department is thriving—and collaborating with other departments across the agency, both in Seattle and at our partner studios around the globe.

  • As the Editor in Chief at Chicago.citysearch.com, I led a team of 15 art directors, designers, and writers to create a wealth of original .com content for what became a top site in the Citysearch network.

  • As a content manager and editor for MSN.com, I assigned feature stories to a dozen freelance writers all over the country on lifestyle topics ranging from Halloween cocktails to sexy bald men to simple ways to green your home to why rural living is better, and much more.

  • As the founding Editor of The Ski Journal, an award-wining print quarterly, I assigned feature and department stories to dozens of writers around the globe, while also working closely with magazine staff and freelance photographers and the magazine’s photo editor to create an industry-defining publication.

Areas of expertise: Team leadership, team building, creative directing, presenting, client relations, copywriting, copyediting, concepting, proofreading, content strategy, social content, feature writing, interviewing, blog writing, photo captioning, messaging frameworks, CRM. Also familiar with: brand strategy, analytics and how user data/behavior inform and optimize creative ideas and executions, user experience, art direction.
